La Mailleshow notes

1. I research

   Moodboards, colour ranges, stitch research: everything starts with the material. Twice a year I source yarns at Pitti Filati, in Florence.

2. I build in volume

   I drape knit swatches directly on the dress form to find silhouettes, shapes, finishings and details.

3. I mix techniques

   Pointelle, crochet, fringing, jacquards, stripes, metallic yarns: mixed techniques and materials, for runway pieces and product-driven designs.

4. I simulate and draw

   Colours, looks and designs in Photoshop; technical drawings and technical files in Illustrator; Fabric to Sketch, boards and line plans.

5. I follow it to the factory

   With the development team, and twice a year at the factory in Italy, from prototype to pre-production.

6. I fit and adjust

   Fittings, prototypes through to final validation, and look sessions: for every AMI Paris runway show and every ba&sh collection.
